Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino have won the hearts of many Kenyans, with growing public support for the movement.<\/p>\n
In contrast, the rise of George Natembeya, the Governor of Trans Nzoia County, faced criticism from leaders believed to be uncomfortable with his growing political influence in Western region. The Natembeya slogan tawe movement that championed against oppression of Luhyas by doing less valued jobs that Luhya leaders didn’t welcome at all. Natembeya who is serving as first governor of tranzioa having served in the position of regional county commissioner<\/p>\n
As the 2027 General Election approaches, political analysts and observers are questioning whether Luhya leaders will use Sifuna\u2019s growing movement to consolidate support within the Mulembe Nation instead of waiting until 2032 for the community to pursue the presidency.<\/p>\n
Currently, the Mulembe Nation boasts several influential leaders holding senior national positions, including Moses Wetang’ula speaker of national assembly Musalia Mudavadi Prime cabinet secretary Wycliffe Oparanya cs coperatives, and Francis Atwoli,l cotu secretary general positions that continue to elevate the community\u2019s political standing in Kenya.<\/p>\n
The raise of Natembeya faced criticism from regional kinship who felt their thrown will be taken away by Natembeya. The region commands over 2 million voters and, by population, ranks second after the Kikuyu community.
