Rose Muhando Weds Bishop Robert Lumbasi in a Private Ceremony

Renowned Tanzanian gospel artist Rose Muhando has officially tied the knot with Bishop Robert Lumbasi, a Kenyan senior police officer, preacher and gospel singer, in a private church wedding held over the weekend.

Bishop Robert Lumbasi is a Luhya from Malava subcounty, Kabras community from shivikhwa area. The marriage has been widely celebrated as a proud cultural and spiritual milestone.

The wedding, which was by invitation only, marked the culmination of a love journey that began several years ago. Bishop Lumbasi confirmed that he paid the traditional dowry in 2023, formally sealing their intention to marry. With this step completed, he noted that Muhando was officially “no longer on the market.”

The union has sparked joy across Kenya and Tanzania, particularly among members of the Luhya community and gospel music followers. Many have described the marriage as one of the most anticipated gospel weddings in recent times, considering the couple’s influence in Christian ministry and music.

Notably, last year while preaching at Malava Chapel, Bishop Lumbasi revealed to the congregation that a breakthrough was coming after years of silent suffering and perseverance in church. At the time, he spoke of enduring trials quietly while remaining steadfast in faith words that many congregants now view as prophetic in light of his recent marriage.

At 50, Rose Muhando married 46-year-old Bishop Lumbasi, inspiring widespread discussion on faith, patience and God’s perfect timing. Supporters have praised her story as a powerful reminder that marriage can happen at any stage of life and that God neither delays nor forgets His promises.

The ceremony was simple and low-key, focusing on spiritual commitment rather than public display. Messages of congratulations continue to pour in from fans, fellow gospel artists and church leaders, celebrating Muhando’s courage, wisdom and unwavering faith.

As they begin their new life together, well-wishers have expressed hope that the couple will continue to show each other grace, love and mutual respect and that their union will stand as a testimony of faith and devotion.
