Friends Secondary School Silungai Girls has once again demonstrated steady academic progress following the release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results. The school posted a commendable mean score of 6.948, marking a positive deviation of +1.63 and confirming a consistent upward trend in performance over recent years.
In the 2025 examination, the grade distribution was as follows:
B+: 2.B: 9 B-: 35 C+: 42 C: 32 C-: 11 D+: 4
With this performance, 88 students secured direct entry to university, while the remaining graduates are eligible for placement in top-tier middle-level colleges. This achievement reflects a significant improvement over the last two years; the school recorded a mean score of 4.68 (C-) in 2023 and 5.32 (C-) in 2024.
School administrators attribute this progress to the strong leadership and focused academic strategies implemented by Senior Principal Jane Cheloti. Her stewardship has emphasized discipline, robust teacher support, and learner-centered instruction.
As the school prepares for the full rollout of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at Grade 10, Principal Cheloti revealed that the institution has the capacity to admit more than 300 students across three streams into Grade 10 for the 2026 academic year.
Teachers have already undergone extensive training to effectively deliver the new curriculum and guide learners through specialized pathways. Under the CBC framework, Silungai Girls will offer a wide range of tracks, including:
STEM: Options in Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences and Technical Studies.
Social Sciences: Covering Languages, Literature, Humanities and Business Studies.
Beyond academics, Friends Secondary School Silungai Girls continues to uphold its philosophy of holistic education. The institution places a strong emphasis on character formation, leadership, co-curricular activities, and community service, ensuring learners are well-prepared for life beyond the classroom.
Principal Cheloti reaffirmed her vision of producing graduates who are not only academically equipped but also grounded in values, resilience, and social responsibility. She called on parents, alumni, and partners to continue supporting the schoolโs mission of nurturing well-rounded young women and strengthening Silungai Girlsโ reputation as a center of educational excellence.
